Lisa Cat-Berro I Saxophoniste

Lisa Cat-Berro is a saxophonist, composer and arranger.

After studying literature, she joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, from which she graduated in 2007.

Over the years, she has built up a solid experience in the world of jazz, but also in world music and performing arts.

She performs with her own group, on a repertoire of original compositions, accompanied by very active musicians from the jazz scene, drummer Nicolas Larmignat, guitarist Julien Omé and Stéphane Decolly on bass (Sunset-Sunside, Orléans Jazz Festival).

Today, she is releasing a record with this group, with the support of the label Gaya Music productions, and the Scène Nationale "La Coursive" in La Rochelle, where the group has done a creative residency.

He has been heard in Rhoda Scott's Lady Quartet, with Sophie Alour and Julie Saury, in Parisian clubs and at major festivals (Jazz in Vienna in 2011). A record, "Live au Sunset" was released in 2008 on the Must Records label, and the band won the 2011 Django d'or for live performance.

Since 2010, she has accompanied François Morel in the show "Le soir, des Lions... ", who has toured more than 120 dates throughout France.

Passionate about African and world music, she founded the group Ayoka in 2011, with African and Caribbean musicians (Tanjazz festival in Tangier).

Lisa also accompanies the Cameroonian drummer Brice Wassy, a musician of reference in the world of African music, during concerts at the New Morning, or on important stages abroad (Pan-African festival in Algeria in 2009).

From 2009 to 2011, she has participated in the Umculowethu show with Dizu Plaatjies, a musician from South Africa and pianist Armel Dupas (Creation of the Antoine Vitez theatre in Ivry-sur-Seine).

His forays into the world of improvised music have led him to play with harpist Isabelle Olivier.
