David Enhco

Born in 1986, David Enhco is a trumpeter and composer. At the age of 3, he began working on music with percussion and piano, then adopted the trumpet at the age of 5. He studied classical music with Pascal Clarhaut, jazz at the CMDL (Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood), and gave his first concerts at the age of 8 with a group of children.

From the age of 16, David Enhco is invited to play in bands ranging from duos to big bands in France and around the world (United States, Japan, Italy, Middle East, China, Philippines, Germany...). An tireless creator of groups and musical projects, David Enhco likes to share and transmit: in 2012, with The Amazing Keystone Big Band, commissioned by the Jazz Festival in Vienna and with Bastien Ballaz, Jon Boutellier and Fred Nardin, he created a jazz adaptation of Pierre et le Loup. It is then 6000 children who discover improvisation, instruments and different styles of jazz through Prokofiev's work. The disc and book-disc of this show, with Denis Podalydès in the role of the reciter, will be released in October 2013 (Choc JazzMagazine, Choc Classica, Choix Le Monde, Choix Libération, Best Disc of the Year Award from the Académie du Jazz).

More than 130 concerts followed throughout France between 2013 and 2015. In Paris, in March 2015, at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, a series of 10 sold-out performances of Pierre et le Loup... and Jazz ! This collective adventure does not prevent the emergence of other projects: in 2012, David Enhco will tour with Thomas Enhco and participate in the creation of a septet with singer Cécile McLorin Salvant. With the David Enhco Quartet, he performed at various festivals and won first prize in the Montauban International Jazz Competition.

Shortly afterwards, the David Enhco Quartet's debut album, La Horde, was named Révélation Jazzman, Must TSF. One year later, in 2014, the David Enhco Quartet's second album, Layers, is Choc JazzMagazine, Qobuzissime and MustTSF.
