Quatuor Akilone

Quatuor Akilone - credit Natacha Colmez-

Known for the poetic vision of the works it tackles, the Akilone Quartet defends the vast repertoire of the string quartet with sensitivity, intelligence and imagination. It is the result of a human and musical adventure born in Paris in 2011, and has trained with great chamber musicians such as Hatto Beyerle with whom he works closely, Johannes Meissl, Vladimir Mendelssohn and the members of the Ysaÿe, Rosamunde and Ebène quartets. He also received valuable advice from Mathieu Herzog.

Winner of the First Grand Prize of the 8th Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition and the ProQuartet Prize in May 2016, the Akilone Quartet has since toured Europe and Japan. He has already performed at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista in Venice, the Munetsugu Hall in Nagoya, the Maison de la Radio and the Salle Cortot in Paris and at festivals such as Les Vacances de Monsieur Haydn, the Orangerie de Sceaux and the Festival des Arcs. In parallel with an international career and driven by the need to forge a close relationship with the listener, the Akilone Quartet opens its "singing" to all types of audiences thanks to its collaboration with the associations Les Concerts de Poche and Musethica.
